Welcome! I am Antonio Lapierre, a self-taught naïve artist, giant puppet maker, and cultural storyteller based in Los Cabos, Mexico. My work lives in a vibrant space between sculpture and theater—capturing the exact moment a giant piece of art begins to move, breathe, and connect with people.

🔨 My Roots & Artistic Journey

I did not graduate from traditional art schools. Everything I know, I learned by trusting my hands, my curiosity, and a stubborn desire to turn memory and play into living culture.

• The Voice of the Master: One of the most influential figures in my life was Roger Lapierre, a master jeweler who taught me the value of patience, craftsmanship, and the quiet pride of shaping a piece with heart and intention. His discipline sits at the core of every puppet I build today.

• Learning by Trial & Error: My path was shaped by cutting, gluing, carving, failing, and fixing again. This journey led me to discover a natural connection with Naïve Art—a style defined by honesty, vibrant colors, and complete freedom from rigid academic rules.

🎭 The Philosophy: Art That Dances

"The first time I climbed inside one of my own mojigangas, everything changed. Hidden inside that large papier-mâché shell, I saw how people's faces lit up with laughter and surprise. I realized that my work is not just sculpture—it only truly comes alive when a person gives it motion and heart. The performer becomes the heartbeat of the character."

Today, our studio in Los Cabos is a creative laboratory of clay, paint, and innovation. Whether it is a giant wedding couple, a monumental Catrina, or a personalized mini-Mojidoll, each piece is handcrafted to be light enough to wear, strong enough to travel, and honest enough to hold a moment you will remember forever.
