Let’s Bring Your Idea to Life
My Catrinas and Catrines are some of the most meaningful pieces I create. They carry history, beauty, and the spirit of a tradition that has lived in Mexico for generations. When I build one of these figures, I’m not just crafting a puppet — I’m honoring a cultural icon.
The Catrina is elegance in the face of mortality.
The Catrín is her companion, proud and timeless.
Together, they remind us that life is a celebration, even in its deepest moments.
When I create these giants, I pay special attention to expression. The tilt of the head, the shape of the smile, the softness or strength in the eyes — every detail matters. Their clothing, textures, and colors reflect the stories they carry. Some Catrinas are graceful and serene, others bold and playful. Each one has her own personality.
My Catrines follow the same idea: sharp lines, confident posture, a presence that feels alive and dignified. They balance elegance with a touch of humor — a reminder that tradition can be serious and joyful at the same time.
My Catrinas and Catrines have walked in:
weddings
Day of the Dead celebrations
nautical parades
hotel events
festivals in Los Cabos
private parties and cultural gatherings
Wherever they appear, people stop.
They smile.
They take photos.
They feel something — a mix of admiration, nostalgia, and warmth.
These figures are part of my identity as an artist. They represent the fusion of my naive self-taught style with one of Mexico’s most beloved symbols. Each one is handcrafted, painted by hand, and built to move comfortably and safely when someone steps inside.
I don’t just want them to look beautiful —
I want them to feel alive.
If you’d like a Catrina or Catrín for your event, or if you’d like a custom character inspired by this tradition, I would be honored to create it for you.
